The 8-Hour Fall Prevention course is a core requirement for both SST Worker and SST Supervisor cards under New York City’s Local Law 196. Designed to help prevent the most common and deadly hazards in the construction industry, this online training offers comprehensive guidance on recognizing fall risks, using fall protection systems, and complying with local safety regulations.
Participants will explore real-life scenarios, OSHA and NYC DOB standards, and proven safety strategies to stay protected on the job. Whether you’re new to the field or advancing your qualifications, this course is vital for working legally and safely on NYC construction sites.

- Proper use and maintenance of fall protection systems

At the end of the course, students will complete a knowledge check and receive a certificate of completion, valid toward their SST requirements.
Safety Advisory is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and authorized to issue CEUs that meet the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard. To Receive CEU Credit:
- Complete all required training hours
- Pass all course assessments (where applicable)
- Submit valid ID and complete registration
- Participate in all required components of the course
Your CEU hours are listed on each course page. A digital certificate with CEU credit will be issued upon successful completion.
Upon completing all required training courses to meet NYC SST requirements, you will be eligible to receive your official SST card. Please note: The SST card is not automatically included and must be requested separately. To process your card, you must provide valid identification, a photo, and ensure all registration information is complete including submission of the required registration form.
