The 2-Hour Pre-Task Meetings course is a mandatory component of the New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor pathway. It equips construction supervisors and workers with the skills to conduct or participate in pre-task safety meetings that address job-specific hazards before the day’s work begins.
These meetings are a crucial part of proactive safety planning, especially on dynamic construction sites where tasks—and risks—can change daily. The course teaches attendees how to identify potential dangers, communicate safety expectations, and foster a culture of awareness and accountability.
Topics Covered Include:
- The purpose and structure of pre-task safety meetings
- How to identify and discuss task-specific risks
- Communication strategies to increase team awareness
- Roles and responsibilities of supervisors and workers
- Documentation and compliance best practices
- Integrating pre-task meetings into overall safety planning
Self-paced and 100% online, this training allows participants to complete the course at their convenience while fulfilling an important SST Supervisor requirement.
