The 2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness course is a mandatory component of the NYC Department of Buildings’ Site Safety Training (SST) program. Designed for both workers and supervisors, this online course helps participants understand the serious risks associated with substance use and impairment in the construction industry.
Students will learn how drug and alcohol abuse impacts job performance, endangers lives, and contributes to workplace accidents. The course also covers how to identify signs of impairment, understand employer and legal responsibilities, and follow procedures for handling incidents related to substance use.

Safety Advisory is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and authorized to issue CEUs that meet the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard. To Receive CEU Credit:
- Complete all required training hours
- Pass all course assessments (where applicable)
- Submit valid ID and complete registration
- Participate in all required components of the course
Your CEU hours are listed on each course page. A digital certificate with CEU credit will be issued upon successful completion.
Upon completing all required training courses to meet NYC SST requirements, you will be eligible to receive your official SST card. Please note: The SST card is not automatically included and must be requested separately. To process your card, you must provide valid identification, a photo, and ensure all registration information is complete including submission of the required registration form.
